Every year an insane amount of energy is used to heat your swimming pool. Usual material to use when heating a swimming pool would include propane, natural gas or electricity is occasionally used. Yet, the key to saving money on a swimming pool heater is try and introduce eco-friendly products or add-ons to your swimming pool. It is hard enough running a swimming pool with having to spend a fortune on swimming pool chemicals and a good quality winter pool cover for the cold months when the swimming pool is barely in use. So, what are the most useful tips to reducing your costs?

1. Keep your pool covered with a solar cover to keep in the heat. A pool solar cover will insulate the surface of the water which would otherwise escape. A solar pool cover ultimately reduces the costs of your swimming pool. By swapping over the tool you use to heat your pool you are saving so much more money.

2. Only use your pool heater when you want to use your swimming pool otherwise you are wasting energy. This is obviously dependent on how much you use your pool but if you really dont use it all that much then make sure you only use your swimming pool heater when you want to use it.

3. Another interesting way to save on costs when heating your swimming pool is to use an alternative pool pump. A pool heat pump is fundamentally the same as an air conditioner. It heats the pool by using outside air. To use an electric pump takes up so much energy but this tool does not need half of the power as a normal electric pump would.

So, I hope these tips have helped you and the family to try and keep your costs down. It is important to think about the impact that fossil fuels have on the environment and heating your swimming pool using this method may be detremental.

These days, home appliances are a huge part of our every day lives. They help to make our lives easier and to simplify the job of daily tasks. Because these appliances are used everyday, they need regular maintenance to ensure that they keep working. Despite everyone knowing this, some appliances are neglected because they don’t get used as much.

House appliances like air purifiers, which tend to only be in use during summer, and a electric patio heater, which are only used during the colder months are worst affected by poor maintenance. I’ll use air conditioners as an example for this post. Air conditioners are generally only used during summer and they get turned off and forgotten during the rest of the year. However, when the time comes that your need to cool your house down, the appliance can break down due to poor or no maintenance at all.

Not only does not maintaining appliances like air conditioners make your life difficult when they break down, but they also cost more to run. If your air conditioner is poor maintained and has dirty/broken parts, it will make it’s job of cooling the room longer, costing you more money to run.

One of the biggest problems that affect air conditioner units is dust. If you don’t clean your unit of dust and dirt, it will not function as good as it did when you bought it, therefore it will use more energy to keep your rooms cool. The filter within your air con unit is one of the main parts that’s affected by the dirt and dust in the air. If you keep replacing your filter whenever it becomes dirty, it can save you money, reduce the damage the unit does to the environment, plus keep your house cool and dust free.

The filter is the part of the unit that cleans the air, it filters out alot of the bacteria, dust, and pollen that is found in the air. If the filter your air con unit is using isn’t clean, it won’t be able to clean the air as well as it could do with a clean filter. The unit will also end up using more electricity to try and clean your room’s air.

Keeping your air con unit clean is just as important as keeping your washing machine clean. For the best possible performance from your air con filter, you should look to replace it once every month. Remember that these tips don’t just apply to big air con units, they also apply to a portable aircon units.

I am currently considering moving to London but there is so much to consider at the same time. There is so much to consider and so much to plan.

There is a lot of money to be made in London and there are so many work opportunities. However the city life is not for all as it can get so crowded. For many people the thought of moving home is extremely overwhelming but with good planning and preparation this can be a relatively easy going task – London removals are really not as stressful as you may think and remember that moving office is not nearly going to be as expensive as moving your house.

A very important thing to remember before moving to London is to obviously establish where you are going to move to. London is such a wide area, you could find all sorts of pockets that you could call home. Good research is the key to finding a nice place to live in London and for me; North West London is a good place to start. It is a truly up and coming area for many people and the properties are very reasonable. Saving money on rent could be accomplished by living outside the central zones. Living in Zone 5 could be really useful in the way that it could save you a lot of money in rent. It is equally important to check that you are living close to a tube station so if you are working in the centre of town you can get there will some ease.

So, with these point in mind it is worth having a little think about moving to London. London is not for everyone so it is important to think about whether it is the best move?

You heard it right The infamous Twighlight star, Robert Pattinson has confessed that he does not know how to use one of the most simplest domestic appliances..a commercial washing machine!
The actor revealed that he does not change his clothes that often as he is unsure on how to actually turn the machine on. Commercial laundry equipment is really not that hard to use by any means and it would take all of one minute to figure it out. This is quite a shock to learn that one of the UKs most promising young actors is quite a novice when it comes to the simpler and every day things in life. Understandably, trying to operate large washing machines that are meant for commercial use would be more difficult to use. So, Im guessing that the only alternative is that his mum is still doing his washing.

Robert Pattinson was born on 13th May in 1986. He is best known for playing Edward Cullen in the hit teen film, Twilight based on an original novel by Stephenie Meyer, and for his role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Rob Pattinson became involved in acting a very early age in London where he was born. He was spotted by a local agent for his production work in Tess of the DUrbervilles and began looking for professional roles. As well as playing the guitar he also writes and composes his own music. He appeared as a singer on two songs for the Twilight Soundtrack which he co-wrote with Sam Bradley. What’s more he has also featured on numerous soundtracks including his latest film ‘How to be’. He has worked closely with composer Joe Hastings in producing the music for this film.
Over the past couple of years Pattinson has received numerous awards that have helped him promote his own career in acting and modelling.

A new type of art show is being arranged in Greenwich gallery on July 26th next year. The art show will be hosting Sit-in, a chance for artists of any level to show off their work. In order to get this new type of show running and working each artist is required to bring their own bit of furniture to sit on.

This doesnt necessarily mean that you should go out there and buy office furniture and bring it down or even bring in your executive office seating in from your work. Instead the gallery is recommending that people bring in their own blankets or benches to the event which only lasts half an hour.

After the exhibition is over half an hour has been designated at the viewfinder for discussion between artists and visitors to do print swaps and talk about each others work.

This is a very unique opportunity for aspiring designers and artists alike to show off their work in a large art gallery for absolutely nothing! You dont even have to go through all the red tape in order for your work to appear in the gallery. This a great opening for some people out there.

The curator of the Greenwich gallery said that they have no idea what the day will pan out like as they have never had anything like this before. Hopefully, there will be a wide variety of art from people of all ages as well as a wide and diverse range of furniture being used for photographers to sit on.

It is important to remember that the show is not solely focused on office seating but the art that people are mixing with each other.Normally, this level of interaction brings out the best in some young artists and is a great opportunity for people to mingle with eachtother.

If you are not a stranger to home maintenance or developing, you’ll have a fair idea of where most of the money goes. Classically more money is spent on the kitchen than any other room of the house, closely followed by the bathroom. These rooms cost a considerable amount of money due to their feature pieces, like sinks, units and work surfaces.Further more, in most rooms you can usually get away with choosing cheaper, lower quality items, but in these rooms they stand out like a sore thumb.

But what are the rooms that people are spending money on now, during the credit crunch? The living room comes out winner currency according to the Swedish furniture supplier IKEA. There is too much cost involved in the process of doing up kitchens and bathrooms right now so not so many people are choosing this option. They would much rather wait until they have more financial security and do it properly. The difference when doing up a living room though is that not everything has to be done at once, it can be worked on over time. TV units, low tables and shelving are the most popular choices, along with the small token items like candle sticks. Additionally, due to an increase in open plan living style, dining furniture is also becoming one of the most popular choices.

The rooms that people are choosing to buy most furniture for after the living room is the bedroom. There is a lot of time spent in the bedroom and people are trying to get value for money at the moment. They want to do up a room that they can appreciate the most. Bedside tables sell well according to IKEA, who suggest this is because they are cheap yet useful, and more modern designs can make a room look more contemporary quite quickly. Other common choices for bedroom furniture includes wardrobes, dressers and chairs

The summer time is usually a period of happiness and enjoyment. You have a skip in your step, the birds are singing and you have the warm sun on your face. Come winter however and for a lot of people the mood changes. Seasonal Affective Disorder is a recognized condition that affects around 2% of the population and around 10% of people report symptoms. These include depression, sleeping problems and lethargy to name a few. What causes this is not known exactly, but we do know that one of the major influences is lower light levels in winter causing brain and body chemical communication errors. At night the receptors in the eyes report to the pineal gland that there is less light, which in turn releases a chemical called melatonin into the body, which causes us to feel sleepy and slow down.

Amazingly by carefully selecting the interior design items of our homes, we can have a real impact on the negative effects of Seasonal Affective Disorder and feel much better for it. Living room and bedroom furniture are often the most important to get right as these are the rooms that we spend most of our time in. Buying white furniture such as white wardrobes, tables and chairs will increase the amount of light that is reflected around the room and will have a large impact on mood.

A minimal approach to furniture is also a good idea as this helps open up rooms and reduces the feeling of being cluttered. Not only does less furniture been you wont bump into stuff as much when you move around, but additionally the light that enters the room bumps into less things and this makes the room brighter. It also helps painting your walls a light and airy colour to improve light reflection as well.

Some ideas for reducing the amount of furniture you have include only having your table large enough for everyday use and taking away or adding chairs if and when you need them, only have one bedside table instead of one each side, and getting rid of small pieces that only have aesthetic value.

Setting a stylish and attractive dinner table is one sure way to make your guests feel special. If you’re not artistically inclined the trick is to keep it simple.

Choose dinnerware that is durable and dishwasher proof. My personal preference is for all white crockery and stainless steel cutlery in a contemporary design. But, whatever your taste, you want your dinnerware to last for more than just one meal so be certain to check that the crockery is chip and scratch resistant.

Another thing to consider, when buying a dinner service or cutlery set, is can you buy replacement items. You can be sure that sooner or later a few of your plates and bowls will get chipped and cracked. It’s useful to be able to replace odd damaged items without the need to buy a complete replacement dinner service.

The same goes for cutlery. My partner often treats the cutlery drawer as a tool box and will sometimes reach for a table knife rather than track down a screw driver. I’ve had to replace several knives and a few spoons that he has managed to damage in this way. Its always good if you can buy replacement individual items.

Your choice of crockery and cutlery are important but there is much more involved in setting an attractive dining table. Glassware is also important and again I recommend simple, but stylish. Make certain that your glassware is dishwasher safe and ensure that you have more than enough glasses. At the very least I would recommend that you have a set of six general purpose tumblers, six red wine glasses, six white wine glasses and maybe some glasses for spirits if they are your tipple. Alternatively, if you enjoy a glass or three of champagne, get yourself a nice set of champagne flutes.

Crisp linen or cotton napkins are always preferable to those throwaway paper ones. A few wipe clean place mats will be enough for daily use but you will probably want a nice crisp table cloth and some napkins for entertaining.

Select an attractive centrepiece, maybe a piece of crystal glass or dried flower arrangement, and you’ll be ready to serve the food and wine. But you are already onto a winner with your stylish dining table.

Doing your home up properly is almost always a big drain on resources and is even more difficult for those who are not so well off. If you add to this the fact that everyone is struggling with finances in the current climate and the result is a large amount of households who are living without even the most basic furniture items. There may be an answer to this problem however in the form a government initiative which will ask those more fortunate to give their unwanted items to poorer families, instead of disposing of it or selling it on.

Local events, magazines and radio will all be used to advertise the government’s initiative, which is thought to begin later this year. They hope to appeal to the Samaritan in all Americans and are aiming to help out around 200,000 households initially. The furniture that is most in demand is bedroom furniture like children’s beds, wardrobes and bedside tables. There is also a high demand for living room items, with many families lacking tables, book cases and couches.

There are a number of individuals and groups who have been quick to criticise the idea, saying that as industry is struggling most in the recession, people should be being urged to make new purchases to kick start it. The government has largely dismissed these comments and suggested that it will not halt spending as it will be helping those who would have gone without otherwise. “People will always be looking to update their furniture by buying new pieces, but that is not to say that their old items should go to waste” says expert of consumer spending Doug Wallace..

The government has said that all furniture, regardless of condition will be accepted for consideration, including painted furniture, kitchen furniture, bedroom items, really anything that people dont want.

Spas in many areas are having to protect themselves against legal action by tightening their procedures after a barrage of personal injury claims have been made against them. The number of claims last year increased by 36% according the National Spa Association, the majority of which were related to massage. The situation has led to an increased depth in the spa treatment screening process of clientele and more legal protective procedures to be put in place.

The increase in claims made against spas is thought be a result of a case that went to court last year where a lady supposedly had to have time off work after being injured by a massage therapist. The lady already had previous back problems but told the therapist they would not be an issue.Even so, she still decided to sue the spa when the her massage left her with supposed mobility problems and she was awarded a 5 figure pay out.

Since then there has been a sharp increase in the amount of reported incidences at health spas. Most have followed the massage claim route but there have also been reported claims related to hair damage, digestive problem and even onset of migraines. It is thought that a large majority of the claims are false and are made by people looking to make some quick compensation money. A number of insurance companies have announced that they will take strong legal action against false claims, but this is still a worrying time for any health spa.

The advice that is being given out to all health spas at the moment is to be very diligent when it comes learning as much about the clients health and history as possible and also to maintain good standards of service. They are advised to source all skin care products from reputable companies, service and check over their equipment as often as possible, and maintain regular high quality treatment training for their therapists
